Since 2010, Keala has worked with Nancy Rakela as a clinic manager while pursuing her Master's Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (MSTCM) from ACTCM in San Francisco. After completing her clinical internship and graduating in December 2016, Keala has made the final transition into becoming a Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist.
Prior to her Master's degree, Keala received her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Growing up, she was an active participant in a variety of sports and continued on as a NCAA Division 1 soccer player while at Cal Poly. She has always carried a deep interest in body sciences and sports medicine and greatly enjoys integrating this interest with her education in acupuncture and herbal medicine.
While at ACTCM, Keala had the opportunity to expand her knowledge of Tradition Chinese Medicine while learning from world renowned educators. She particularly enjoyed her clinical internship spent at the LifeLong Community Health Care Clinic here in Berkeley, CA. This experience provided her with an opportunity to treat a variety of issues including chronic pain management, digestive disorders and hormone regulation. Being an East Bay resident, she greatly appreciated the opportunity to serve the community in which she lives.
In her spare time, Keala enjoys spending time with family, taking long urban hikes around the East Bay, wading in the Russian River, and the occasional round of golf.
